The health condition of a 23-year-old motorcyclist from Liopetri who was injured yesterday in a road accident in Ayia Napa is out of danger.

According to the Police, yesterday, a 23-year-old man from Liopetri was riding a motorcycle (600 cc) on Nissi Avenue in Ayia Napa when at some point, while passing a car driven by a 45-year-old woman from Bulgaria, he tried to turn right, resulting in a side collision.

The collision took place at a point where there is a broken white line.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital, where the 45-year-old was discharged after receiving first aid.

The 23-year-old, who was wearing a safety helmet, suffered a fracture in his arm and leg, underwent surgery and is being treated in the intensive care unit. His health condition is described as out of danger.

The two drivers underwent an alcohol test with zero indication, while a police check revealed that both the 23-year-old and the 45-year-old do not have a driver's license and are not covered by insurance against a third party.

The Agia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
