German Economy Minister Brigitte Tsipris said today that she expects Britain to suffer more from the negative effects of Brexit than the German economy.

Tsipris' statement came after the activation of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which will lead Britain to leave the European Union.

Tsipris added that she expects the German economy, the largest in Europe, to be able to cope with the consequences of Britain's exit from the EU.
