An investigation, based on a court warrant, was carried out yesterday afternoon by members of OPE Famagusta, at a betting agency in the province of Famagusta.
According to a police announcement, the investigation was carried out in the context of the ongoing activity of the Police against electronic gambling and illegal betting, while for its conduct the Technical Support Department, the Office for Combating Copyright Theft and Intellectual Property Theft cooperated with the members of OPC Famagusta. Betting, the Forensic Electronic Data Laboratory and the Xylofagou Police Station.
According to the Police, when the police officers entered the said agency, the 24-year-old person in charge of the place, turned off the main power supply switch, as a result of which the computers were turned off.
