One policeman was killed and another wounded in an armed attack late at night on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées in central Paris in what may be a "terrorist act", police said.
According to authorities, the perpetrators of the attack are two, one of whom was killed by police fire.

The police urged people to avoid the area. A Reuters reporter said he saw a helicopter flying low over central Paris in an apparent police operation.
