A brutal crime took place in Limassol at midnight on Saturday with the victim being a 35-year-old woman from Ukraine.

The details of the brutal murder cause horror and disgust, as according to the first information, the victim was found tied with plastic cables on his hands and neck, while he had a cloth towel over his mouth.

According to the first police information, around one in the morning on Sunday, the manager of apartments in the Germasogeia River area, found a 35-year-old woman from Ukraine unconscious in her apartment.

The 35-year-old was in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus under the supplementary protection regime.

The victim was found tied with plastic cables and gagged with a facial injury.

Members of the TAE Limassol rushed to the scene as well as an ambulance crew, whose members found the woman dead on the spot.

From the field examinations, it was found that the victim's hands were bound with plastic cable ties. He also wore a plastic bandage and cloth around his neck. The 35-year-old was gagged with a towel over her mouth and had bruises on various parts of her body as well as a fractured nasal bone.

From the Police examinations, testimony emerged against a 26-year-old Turk who is in Cyprus under the status of an asylum seeker. An arrest warrant was issued against the 26-year-old and he is wanted.

The scene has been cordoned off and was visited by the Assistant Chief of Police, Giannakis Georgiou, the officers of the Limassol Police Department, the Head of the Limassol Police Department and members of the Criminal Investigation Service. At the scene, the coroners, Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou, performed an autopsy.
