A man, about 45 years old and two children, 8 and 10 years old, lost their lives from a small fire that broke out shortly after 6 in the morning in a ground floor apartment at 21 Korai Street, in Nea Smyrni.
The Fire Brigade was notified by neighbors and when it arrived at the scene it immediately extinguished the fire and then located the victims, who were transported by EKAB ambulances to hospitals. In particular, the two children were served in "Paidon" and the man in "G. Gennimatas".
According to information from the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency from police sources, a note was found in the apartment, allegedly written by the man, in which it is noted, among other things, "what can I do with my life, I can not stand it anymore".
