Three dead and four injured is the report of a car accident that occurred at 3.00 pm. on the national road Rethymno-Heraklion at the height of Agia Pelagia.
The most tragic thing is that dead is a young couple who had just been engaged and the girl's mother. Her father is rejoicing and her 14-year-old sister was injured.
The girl had moved to Crete to be with her lover. Her family went on holidays to meet the groom's family.
The accident occurred after a collision of two vehicles under unclear circumstances. According to the first information from local media in Crete, one car in which two people were riding, slipped on the wet road, deviated from its course and was "nailed" to the other car.
Two women and a man were pulled out dead from one vehicle, while there are three more adults injured and a 14-year-old girl.
EKAB picked up two men, a 50-year-old and a 47-year-old, and transported them to PAGNI with injuries. Also in serious condition is a 36-year-old who has been intubated while in good condition but injured is a 14-year-old girl who was received by the Mobile Unit of the Child's Smile accompanied by an EKAB doctor.
Information from CretaLive says that the women who lost their lives did not live permanently in Crete but were on the island for the festive season.
