Actor and theatrical director Dimitris Lignadis is being referred to the Mixed Jury Court (MOD) for the four rapes attributed to him, with a panel of the Criminal Court which also orders the continuation of his temporary detention in the prisons of T.
The council judges unanimously decided that the prominent artist should be tried for the rapes of the four men, minors or young people, who are blamed on him after the victims' complaints.
The judges accepted in their entirety the prosecutor's motion requesting that the allegations made by the temporarily detained artist, who attributes the whole case to a conspiracy that has been hatched against him for artistic and political reasons, be rejected.
In her proposal, the prosecutor accepted the reasons why an investigator and a prosecutor had decided to remand the accused in custody, against whom an arrest warrant had been issued last February. The judicial authorities consider that the former artistic director of the National Theater is a person "dangerous, with passions and obsessions, full of strong anti-social feelings", a judgment that is adopted in the council of the Council which accepts that "serious indications emerge against the actor" guilt »for the accusation of serial rape against him.
According to the judges, the accused should not be released from prison but his detention should be extended to prevent new crimes. The same view was expressed by the prosecutor who suggested his referral to the Council, noting the following: taking advantage of his social, professional and economic position to entice them, but also their own economically and socially vulnerable position, the fact that he circulated publicly with his minor victims, without any suspension, but also his unrepentant attitude to date , show that he is a dangerous person, with passions and obsessions, endowed with strong anti-social feelings, so that the maintenance of his temporary detention is deemed necessary to prevent the commission of new criminal acts ".
In the coming days, the date that the artist will sit on the chair of MOD will be determined.
