"Greece is never going to accept the fait accompli of the Turkish invasion and occupation," says the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the declaration of the pseudo-state.
"In full coordination with the Republic of Cyprus, Greece is systematically working to create the conditions that will lead to finding a fair, sustainable, functional and mutually acceptable solution within the framework of the decisions of the United Nations Security Council," the announcement states. It is noted, finally, "on this sad anniversary, Greece underlines the need for full compliance by all states, as required by international law, with the decisions of the Security Council. Decisions calling on all countries not to recognize or assist in any way the illegal entity in the occupied part of Cyprus".
