It seems that the police authorities are very close in resolving the case of 34-year-old Ioanna, who was attacked with caustic liquid on May 20 in Kallithea.
On Thursday morning, she was brought before the Athens Security Sub-Directorate as the main suspect, 35 years old, in whose possession the wig and the phone card used for the attack were found.
According to the information, the main suspect is a private employee and lives in Athens. According to the same information, the company in which she works had cooperation with the insurance company where the 34-year-old works.
The police officers of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate and the Kallithea Security Department proceeded to bring in after processing telephone conversations, from security camera material and the intersection of some elements that lead them to the conclusion that this is the main suspect.
At the same time, a police investigation was conducted at the home of the 35-year-old.
Another woman will be brought in, for whom there is information that she supplied vitriol to the alleged perpetrator.
Previous obsession with the 34-year-old
The woman, who was brought in on Wednesday morning, does not belong to the initial circle of suspects from the personal and professional environment of the 34-year-old who had been involved in the first phase of the investigation by the prosecuting authorities. He allegedly had an occasional relationship with a lawyer who had personal contact with the unfortunate 34-year-old, which was considered by the suspect as an "obstacle" to a permanent relationship with him. Police are talking about a previous "obsession" of the woman in question against the 34-year-old.
According to information, he attacked the office of the insurance company because he knew - through a network of common acquaintances - that the 34-year-old worked there, and did not know the address of her residence.
ELAS officers tracked down the main suspect in a series of reports and subsequently blocked other scripts and other individuals who were found to have strong alibis.
In addition, important data were collected - as already presented by in.gr and tovima.gr - from the analysis of calls at the places of appearance of the 34-year-old (Kallithea, Syggrou at the height of Fix, Akadimias, Pagrati), the testimony of a taxi driver, etc.
