The Council of Ministers approved today the proposal of the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare for the granting of a Christmas Gift to the beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income, the Low Pensioner's Allowance, the Honorary Allowance for the Mother of Many Children, the Single Parent Family Allowance, and the recipients of Public Assistance and other social benefits. The cost of implementing the above Decision amounts to approximately 17.3 million euros.
Specifically, the Christmas Gift will be awarded as follows:
A. To Minimum Guaranteed Income (MGI) beneficiaries who are beneficiaries in December 2023, an amount corresponding to 80% of their family's basic needs for December 2023. The amount will be paid into accounts on 13/12/2023.
B. To the beneficiaries of the Plan to Support Pensioners with Low Incomes, who are not beneficiaries of EEE or Public Assistance, an amount equal to the amount of the low-income pensioner's allowance for the month of December 2023, with a minimum amount of €100. The amount will be paid into the accounts on 19/12/2023.
C. To the beneficiaries of the Plan for the Provision of Honorary Allowance for Mothers of Many Children for 2023, an amount of €100. The amount will be paid to the accounts on 18/12/2023.
D. To Public Assistance recipients, an amount corresponding to 80% of their family's basic needs for December 2023. For those receiving monthly Public Assistance checks will be sent on 12/12/2023 with a cash date of 14/12/2023 or paid to the accounts of the beneficiaries on 14/12/2023. For those receiving emergency Public Assistance the checks will be sent on 13/12/2023 with a redemption date of 15/12/2023 or will be paid into the accounts of the beneficiaries on 15/12/2023
E. To those stranded, an amount equal to the amount of the stranded allowance for the month of December 2023. The amount will be paid through checks which will be sent on 13/12/2023 or via bank transfer on 13/12/2023.
St. To the children of trapped people who live in the occupied areas and attend the Kindergarten, Primary and High School of Rizokarpasos, an amount equal to the allowance that will be granted to them for the month of December 2023. The amount will be paid through checks which will be sent on 13/12/2023 or via bank transfer on 13/12/2023.
G. To the beneficiaries of the Single Parent Family Allowance, who are not beneficiaries of EEE or Public Assistance, an amount of €100, provided that the gross income of the family for 2022, as calculated on the basis of the Law on the Provision of Child Allowance, does not exceed € 19.500,00 and the amount of the deposits, based on the latest data kept in the Social Benefits Register, does not exceed €10.000,00. The amount will be paid into the accounts on 18/12/2023.
In addition, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare announces that, in view of the Christmas holidays, the Social Welfare Services (YKE), the Welfare Benefits Management Service (YDEP) and the Department of Social Integration of Persons with Disabilities (TKEAA) have made all the necessary arrangements for earlier payment of allowances and other social benefits, as follows:
