The abandonment of their employers by foreign workers has become a scourge, says the Member of Parliament for DISY Famagusta, Dr. Kyriakos Hatzigiannis.
The foreign workers, as the Famagusta MP points out, leave their jobs, which is the reason for their arrival in Cyprus, and apply to become applicants for political asylum status.
This massive and organized phenomenon exploits the individual's right to civil protection, where it is needed.
The state, concludes Mr. Hatzigiannis, should re-evaluate the new situation that is being created and take the necessary measures to eliminate this phenomenon.
