The 28 member states of the European Union unanimously approved the imposition of tariffs on US imports in order to offset the US tariffs on steel (25%) and aluminum (10%), according to European sources.
According to these sources, the countries have approved the plan to impose tariffs totaling 2,8 billion euros on products imported from the US.
The measure will now have to be approved by the European Commission, whose next meeting is scheduled for June 20. It is expected to enter into force in late June or early July.
