9-year-old Elias Marshall-Rodriguez died tragically when he was run over by the school bus he went under to retrieve his stuck ball.
According to American media the little boy was the last to get off the school on Tuesday afternoon. However, when he got off, the ball fell on him and rolled and stuck under the school, with the 9-year-old getting under the vehicle to get it out without his driver noticing. So when he set out and started, he stepped on the little boy with the wheel who breathed his last on the spot:
What is even more tragic is that little Elias, according to his family, had been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2 and had managed to emerge victorious from the battle with the disease.
"The family is completely devastated. The same applies to the colleagues investigating the case," said a police representative.
After the accident, the 54-year-old driver, who has 10 years of driving experience, was questioned about the case.
“He was super charismatic, I had a lot of fun every time I saw him play with other kids. He was a very sweet and pleasant child," said a friend of the family.
