An 82-year-old cancer patient in Ohio, USA, lost the battle with the coronavirus, after she contracted the virus from a friend who allegedly hid her infection so that they could all play cards together.
Barb Bartolovich was diagnosed with blood cancer a few years ago but managed to overcome it. Fearing the pandemic and her deteriorating health, the elderly woman had cut off social contacts only with her very close circle while at the same time she had been fully vaccinated.
According to WXYZ, the 82-year-old was playing cards with her friends, while asking everyone if they had been vaccinated. One of them, however, turned out to be fatal for Barb's life.
According to Barb's granddaughter Lauren Nash, the elderly friend's friend was diagnosed positive for the virus but decided not to reveal it to Barb to play cards.
The truth was revealed when Barb became seriously ill, with the tracking of the contacts revealing the "culprit".
