A lawsuit has been filed against the government of US President Donald Trump by 17 US states.
The lawsuit, which was initiated by the Democratic Party, concerns a presidential decree signed last week to separate immigrant families.
According to the lawsuit, the decree includes too many exceptions and "loopholes", making it non-functional.
New York and California are among the 17 states that have sued the US president.
It is recalled that Donald Trump's policy of "zero tolerance" for the separation of families, resulted in a strong reaction from the international community, which "forced" the US government to abolish the practice of separation.
However, the problems and obstacles for family reunification continue.
