Two pilots were killed when a Russian military plane crashed off Latakia in Syria for unknown reasons.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a Russian SU-30SM landed in the Mediterranean, after taking off from the Khmeimim base.
"The pilots fought to bring the aircraft under control until the last moment," the ministry said in a statement.
Both pilots were killed in the collision.
