"When we are raped by a talented musician, we lose many friends": 1.993 Swedish artists denounced in one article the attacks, rapes and harassment they have experienced in the world of music.

Signatories, including song stars such as Zara Larson and Robin, are protesting against the "culture of silence" in an industry where harassment and assault are "the norm rather than the exception".

"Those of you who are leaders in the world of music, the responsibility is yours so that no one experiences sexual harassment and you have failed," the women wrote in the newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

The article was published a week after it was co-authored by 456 female actors, in which they denounced harassment, attacks and a culture of silence in cinema and theater.

Some of these actors are expected to meet on November 19th and 20th to share their testimonies from the stage.

Under the slogan #n? Rmusikentystnar (when the music stops) women narrate their personal experiences, often stories of rape and sexual abuse, and target - without naming them - famous artists, producers and well-known agendas in Sweden and abroad.

"I pretended to be in a movie. I thought it was ugly, it left a disgusting taste in my mouth. It deprived me of the joy of making my own album. "My trust was abused," said one singer.

"I was attacked by a musician on stage" while we were performing, recalls another artist.

In addition, 1.300 women politicians from conservative to left-wing factions, including members of parliament, today reported similar incidents of harassment and violence labeled # in the corridors of power.

"We engaged in politics to change the world and build a better world. "We soon realized that we must first change the political world," the women politicians said.
