The American former NBA star Dennis Rodman dhe could not hold back his tears for the historic meeting of US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The former eccentric basketball player who visited North Korea a few years ago and met the country's leader himself, spoke to CNN.

Rodman, obviously excited, said on the show that this meeting was for him a wish and a goal he had for several years.

"It's a beautiful day. I'm here to see it. "I am very happy," he said, referring to the meeting between the two leaders.

"I do not want to think about the politics of this situation, I want to see the two countries together, a handshake, a smile, a glass of cold tea. "I do not need to worry about war information. I do not know anything about it," Rodman said.

"I am very happy to be here and to see everyone as excited as I am," he said.

In 2013, Rodman visited South Korea for a basketball show. There he met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whom he later described as a "friend of his life." He later called then-President Barack Obama and asked him to talk to Kim, which never happened, and asked Kim to release an American who was imprisoned in South Korea, which Kim did a year later. . After several trips to North Korea, Rodman said:

"My goal is to 'break the ice' between the two countries."

Following Trump's election, Rodman sought to persuade the US president to forge a good friendship with the North Korean leader. His wish came true after the summit between the two leaders, which he said makes him happy.
