Most cases of coronavirus in one day from October 22 were recorded in the United Kingdom on Thursday, with 46.807.

This report represents an increase of 10% compared to the previous Thursday, while in total in the last seven days more than 277 thousand cases were recorded, by 14,5% increased compared to the corresponding previous period.

Fluctuations in the number of daily cases show that scientists can not be sure of the course of the pandemic in the near future, despite the fact that there is satisfaction with the fact that there was no outbreak of infections with the return of students to school after one week vacation at the end of October.

Deaths are still high every day. 199 deaths were reported on Thursday. On a seven-day rolling basis, however, deaths are reduced by almost 10%.

Where there seems to be a declining trend is in the number of coronavirus carriers hospitalized. They have now dropped to 8.174, while two weeks ago they exceeded 9.600.

The booster doses of the coronavirus vaccine being given are increasing at an ever-increasing rate. Now covered by the third installment is 24,1% of the population of the United Kingdom aged 12 and over (although the third installment is given to those aged 40 and over and the extremely vulnerable).

The first dose was given by 88,1% of those over 12 and the second dose by 80,1% of them.

The new data came as a report by the National Audit Office, the body responsible for controlling government spending, found that the government was "not fully prepared" for the widespread effects of the pandemic.

Among other things, the report points out the lack of detailed planning for the protection of the most vulnerable citizens, the support of employees and the problems in the operation of schools.

The Audit Office notes that lessons learned from previous "simulation exercises" have not been fully implemented. The report also states that the action devoted to the Brexit process on the one hand helped the government to be on its feet to deal with crises, but on the other hand deprived resources and time of planning to deal with a pandemic.

In the meantime, from today, the British electronic vaccination certificate will include proof of receiving the booster dose. This will make it easier for you to travel to countries that have set time limits on Covid vaccination certificates.
