Handcuffs on a 22-year-old for arson

A fire broke out in a car, which was parked outside the apartment building where the 18-year-old lives.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested by police in connection with an investigation into a car arson case that took place last Wednesday, June 1st, in Paphos.

According to the information under investigation, shortly after 3.50 am on Wednesday, a fire broke out in a car, which was parked outside the apartment building where the 18-year-old responsible driver of the vehicle resides. The fire, which had occurred on the wheel of the vehicle, was noticed by a familiar face of the 18-year-old, who managed to put it out before it spread.

Examinations at the scene by members of the Police and the Fire Service followed and it was found that the fire in the vehicle had been set maliciously. During the investigation of the arson case, evidence emerged against the 22-year-old suspect. She was located shortly before 8.30 last night, in Paphos and was arrested with a court warrant, for the purpose of investigating the case.

The case is being investigated by TAE Paphos.
