Living as members of Solidarity to the greatest extent, to the highest degree, the upheaval that has been caused to the Cypriot people by the revelations of Al Jazeera, we declare the following:
We expect that what was broadcast by the Arab network will be thoroughly investigated by the law enforcement authorities of our country. We want the truth to shine even if there are guilty to be punished, no matter how high they are.
In Cyprus there are institutions that have the task of controlling, investigating, delivering justice. In this case, we expect them to carry out their task in full.
We are not accustomed to cannibalism.
The institution of the Speaker of Parliament is above any person and should remain immaculate and undefiled. We call on the Speaker of Parliament to cooperate with the prosecuting authorities for the full clarification of the case and to abstain from his duties until the completion of the investigations.
We call on the Speaker of Parliament to take all necessary steps to preserve the prestige of the institution, to restore a sense of justice, to prevent further derailment of the country and for the truth to shine.
Finally, we note that Mr. Syllouris after his election to the Presidency of the Parliament stated that he wanted to remain a supra-party President without any party affiliation. That is why all these years he did not participate in any party process of the movement.
