From the 13th to the 15th of January 2020, the registrations of children for the school year 2020-2021 will take place, in the Public Kindergartens and in all the classes of the Public Primary Schools, reminds with its announcement the Directorate of Primary Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.

Registrations will be completed within this period and there will be no new registration period. Those children who do not enroll during the above period, should apply to the relevant District Education Office, which will decide on their enrollment in the nearest school where there will be a vacancy.

The Unified All-Day Schools (EOS) have compulsory attendance until 15:05 or until 16:00 (except Wednesday where the hours are 7:45 to 13:05). There is only one departure time and those children who can not meet it, must apply for enrollment / transfer to another school, during the enrollment / transfer period (13-15 January 2020).

All children of any nationality residing in Cyprus have the right to register, regardless of the legal or illegal residence of their parents / guardians in the country.

Eligible for enrollment in Compulsory Pre-Primary Education are children who complete 4 years and 8 months before September 1, 2020, ie those born from September 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015.

Accepted for enrollment in the Pre-Primary class are children who turn 5 years old before September 1, 2020, ie those born from November 1, 2014 until August 31, 2015.

Eligible for enrollment in the first grade are children who turn 5 years and 10 months before September 1, 2020, ie those born from January 1, 2014 until October 31, 2014.

Attendance at Compulsory Public Primary Education (48/12 years and over) is free.
Children have the right to enroll in either a Public, Community or Private Kindergarten approved by the Ministry of Education. Lists of Community and Approved Private Kindergartens are posted on the website of the Ministry of Education (http://www.moec.gov.cy/dde/katalogoi_sxoleion.html).

Applications for registration in Public Kindergartens can also be submitted by younger children (3-48 / 12 years old), ie those children who were born from January 1, 2016 until August 31, 2017. The application can be submitted in any kindergarten.

Children of this age will secure a place, provided that vacancies remain after the children have been enrolled in compulsory education. Children aged 3–48 / 12 pay monthly tuition for their education.

Registrations are based on the educational district to which the children's residence belongs.

The revised educational districts for the school year 2020-2021 will be posted on the Internet (http://www.moec.gov.cy/dde/ekpaideftikes-perifereies.html), before the registration period (end of December 2019).

Please note that education districts do not apply to children under the age of 3–48 / 12).

When choosing the children who will attend a kindergarten, priority is given to the children of the educational district of the kindergarten.

The attendance of these children in a kindergarten that does not belong to their educational district does not ensure the continuation of their attendance in the same kindergarten at the beginning of their compulsory education.

Necessary certificates for the registration of all children are the following:
Form DDE11 "Application for enrollment in Primary School or Kindergarten (Compulsory Pre-primary Education and Pre-primary class)" for children of compulsory age or Form DDE30 "Application for enrollment in Public / Public and Community Kindergarten for children aged 3-48 / 12 years".

These forms can be obtained from the website of the Ministry of Education (http://www.moec.gov.cy/dde/entipa.html) or from the relevant District Education Offices or from the schools.

Official birth certificate or passport.

For children born in Cyprus, an official Birth Certificate is required outside Cyprus, an official Birth Certificate is required from the Competent Authority of the country in which they were born.

The Passport is accepted as an official certificate.

In case the parents / guardians do not have any official document with them, the children should register after noting all the information required to complete the Register and the Curriculum. It is clarified that the children of Compulsory Pre-Primary Education, Pre-Elementary and AD class who have older siblings who attend the same school (Classes AD-ED of the Primary School during the current school year), are accepted without a certificate of residence address.

When enrolling a child in a Public Primary School for the first time (XNUMXst grade and any other grade), a copy of the Vaccination Card or the relevant page of the Health Booklet must be presented, which will show the vaccination status of the child and the name will be written. even if the vaccines have not been given, and therefore the relevant card / page is empty. In case it is not possible to present the Vaccination Card, a relevant certificate from the pediatrician can be accepted.

When enrolling a child in the first grade of Primary School, it is necessary to present a "Certificate of Attendance" from an approved kindergarten.

In case it is found that a child does not attend an approved kindergarten, the parents / guardians should immediately enroll their child in another Kindergarten, approved by the Ministry of Education and at the same time the child is temporarily enrolled in the first grade, until a certificate of enrollment is presented. in an approved kindergarten.

It is also noted that at the beginning of the study in the first grade of Primary School, in September 2020, it will be necessary to present an official indication of attendance in the pre-primary class from an approved kindergarten.

Applications for transfer will be submitted to the local District Education Offices during the three days of registration, ie, January 13-15, 2020. The following is required to apply for a transfer to the relevant EAG:
