The growing trend in the number of new coronavirus cases, which reached 302 yesterday, but also the possibility of a third wave of the pandemic in March, led Health Minister Konstantinos Ioannou to convene two separate meetings today. One meeting will concern the epidemiological data and the increase of cases and will take place in the afternoon with the members of the Advisory Scientific Committee. The second starts now and OKYPY will participate.

The Minister convened the meeting with the Advisory Group extraordinarily after yesterday's 302 cases.

According to information, the alarming number of cases in the last days in connection with the beginning of the relaxations will be taken into account in the meeting. Also, the situation in Limassol, which maintains the lead in cases

The Minister also has a meeting with the management team of the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) at 9.30 in the morning, to analyze the management plan that the Organization has, for a possible third wave of the pandemic in March.

In statements to KYPE yesterday, OKYPY Spokesman Charalambos Charilaou said that "the Organization has been properly prepared, with a revised plan to deal with a possible third wave of coronavirus and is on alert."
