The list of mild relaxations, which mainly concern recreational and sports activities, was given to the Government by the Epidemiological Team, said to KYPE its member, Professor of Microbiology / Molecular Virology of the Medical School of the University of Nicosia, while Dr. Petros Karagiannis, scientists, he noted, is in favor of the return of high school students to schools.

According to Dr. Karagiannis, the meeting of the Epidemiological Team decided by a majority that the students of the Gymnasiums should return to their schools as soon as possible.

It is something, he noted, which we had suggested before, but we did not listen.

"They have already announced the nasal tests, so the schools will operate in safe conditions and there will be no reactions from parents. "We hope everything goes smoothly," he said.

The Professor revealed that the Epidemiological Team has given the government a list of mild relaxations mainly related to recreational or sports activities, noting that the Council of Ministers will have the final say on where the relaxations will be given.

Asked, he said that in mid-April there will be further relaxations.

He stressed that we must be careful with the relaxations since the mutated strain of the virus is in Cyprus. "If we reopen abruptly and widely, we may turn them upside down and we have to be careful," he said.

He said that in some places, such as gyms, there is the possibility of accepting a few more people than they are currently accepting.

Asked if there would be a third sms for trafficking, Dr. Karagiannis noted that "if approved by the Council of Ministers, we have no objection."

The Professor said that at the moment the situation is stable, but the rate of cases is at a high level. "Yes, we are going down, but there is a danger if we are not careful that the cases start to rise again," he added.
