According to the data under examination, around 10.30 p.m. Today, while the 13-year-old was walking with his classmates in the yard of his school, in Limassol, he was attacked by another 13-year-old, out-of-school, who allegedly hit him on the head with a hammer. The 13-year-old out-of-school, along with a 15-year-old also out-of-school, who accompanied him, then fled, to be stopped by teachers outside the school.

Police were called to the scene, members of which searched the bags of the two extracurriculars, where they found a hammer and a knife with a blade of about 25 cm. The two young men also allegedly pointed to a spot, in an open area next to the school, where they had previously hidden five kitchen knives and other items, which were confiscated by the Police.

The 13-year-old and the 15-year-old were taken to the offices of the Limassol TAE, where they were interrogated in the presence of their parents and Social Welfare Services officials.

As for the 13-year-old victim of the attack, he was initially transported to the Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have a skull fracture. He was then taken to Makareio Hospital in Nicosia, where he was kept for treatment. According to the treating doctors, his state of health is stable.

TAE Limassol continues the examinations, while the Commissioner for Child Protection is also informed about the case.
