CYPRUS: Critical injury of a 44-year-old in a car accident

A 44-year-old man is being treated at the Nicosia General Hospital in critical condition, who was injured last night in a car accident that occurred in Limassol.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Yesterday, on Kolonakiou Street, in Limassol, when the 44-year-old who was walking on the street, under the circumstances under investigation, was dragged by a car driven by an 18-year-old resident of Limassol.

The 44-year-old was seriously injured. He was transported by ambulance to the Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have suffered skull and neck fractures and to have cerebral hemorrhage. Due to the criticality of his condition, he was intubated and taken to the General Hospital of Nicosia, where he was kept for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle underwent a breathalyzer and narcotics test, with negative indications. An arrest warrant was issued against her, under which she was arrested and detained to facilitate investigations.

The Limassol Traffic Police is investigating the causes of the collision.
