The Ministry of Health informs that, according to information received today by the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit from contracting laboratories, out of a total of 2,843 laboratory diagnoses, 2 new cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19.

Analytically, the virus-positive individuals emerged as follows:

Out of 98 samples taken through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 1 case was detected.
Out of 876 samples taken through private initiative, 1 case was identified.

In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:

From samples taken in the context of passenger and repatriated control, 1,504 laboratory diagnoses were performed,
From samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 83 laboratory diagnoses were performed,
From samples taken at roadblocks, 53 ​​laboratory tests were completed,
From a program carried out by the Ministry of Justice and Public Order for the control of the staff working in the Court premises, we had a result for 1 sample, and
From samples taken within the program of referrals by Personal Doctors and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 228 laboratory examinations were completed.
Therefore, based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 1,483.

In addition, six patients are being treated at the Famagusta General Hospital COVID-19, one of which in the Intensive Care Unit. A patient remains intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital.
