The Ministry of Health informs that a total of 10,962 tests were performed today to detect the disease COVID-19.
A. Molecular Test (PCRtest): Of the 10,962 laboratory tests, 3,233 laboratory diagnoses were performed by the molecular method (PCR), with 186 cases of the disease COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
- Out of 591 samples taken through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 78 cases were identified.
- Out of 1,524 samples taken through private initiative, 67 cases were identified.
- Out of 366 samples taken as part of the passenger and repatriate control, 11 cases were identified.
- From 282 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 22 cases were identified.
- From 249 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 3 cases were identified.
- Out of 9 samples taken in the Limassol District as part of a control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Limassol and Paphos Districts, 5 cases were identified.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:
- From samples taken under the control program of students, teachers and school staff, 37 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken in the District of Nicosia in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 15 laboratory tests were performed,
- From samples taken in the District of Paphos in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 8 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken in the Province of Larnaca in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 2 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken from the inhabitants of Kato Pyrgos Tillirias, 54 laboratory diagnoses were completed, and
- From laboratory samples taken as part of the laboratory testing program carried out in nursing homes and other structures, 96 laboratory tests were performed.
B. Rapid antigen detection test (antigensfasttest): Of the 10,962 tests, 7,729 were performed using the rapid antigen detection method, with 153 positive results, identified as follows:

In addition, the positive result for 132 samples of positive results detected through the rapid antigen test method in the previous days. In addition, a positive result from rapid tests was not verified by the molecular method. Positive rapid antigen detection tests confirmed by PCR are included in the total number of cases below.
Therefore, based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 10,883.
