The average amount of rain that fell in the free areas from the 19st to the morning of the 1th of March rose to only 26% of the normal for the month of March, according to preliminary data published on Friday by the Meteorological Service.

Specifically, according to the data of the Department of Meteorology, the average total amount of rainfall from the 1st to the morning of March 26 amounted to 11,7 mm, compared to 61,9 mm which is the normal rainfall for the month.

The highest amount of rainfall during the same period was recorded in Platania with 108,9 mm which corresponds to 97% of the normal rainfall for March. They are followed by Stavros tis Psoka with 106,1 mm which corresponds to 91% of the normal, Prodromos with 97,3 mm which corresponds to 81% of the normal and Pano Panagia with 68,5 mm and 67% of the normal.

On the contrary, the least amount of rainfall during the period 1-26 March was recorded in the area of ​​Paphos Airport with only 11,5 mm which corresponds to 23% of the normal for the month, in the area of ​​Larnaca Airport with 14,2 mm which corresponds to 36 % of the normal and in Kornos with 18,8 mm and with 32% of the normal for the month.
