Tragedy in Limassol. A 55-year-old worker lost his life on a day job after being overwhelmed by a volume of soil.
According to the Police, the unfortunate worker was crushed by a volume of soil while performing painting work on a retaining wall.
The operation to locate the worker lasted more than five hours after the authorities mobilized a tanker to move the soil.
The Police, the Fire Brigade, the EMAK and the Labor Inspection Office assisted in the operation.
The worker was located shortly before 19.00 while his relatives were at the place where the operation took place. A medical examiner rushed to the scene and confirmed the death of the unfortunate man.
