Nikos Anastasiadis, who is re-elected for a second consecutive term in the Presidency of the Republic, is the seventh President of the Republic of Cyprus.

Nikos Anastasiadis was born in Pera Pedi in the province of Limassol. He is married to Andri Moustakoudi and has two daughters. He was elected President of the Republic of Cyprus for the first time in 2013, on February 24, 2013, with a percentage of 57,25%, at the age of 67.

Nikos Anastasiadis was elected Member of Parliament for Limassol with DISY in the elections of 24 May 1981 and was re-elected in the elections of 8 December 1985, 19 May 1991, 26 May 1996, 27 May 2001, 21 May 2006 and 21 May 2011.

He was the deputy parliamentary representative of DISY. from 1991 to 1993 and a parliamentary representative of the party from 1993 to 1997.

At the same time he was Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 1996 to 2001. He was a member of the Selection Committee and chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs.

He was also the Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union from 1991 to 2006 and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Cyprus Group in the same body, as well as a member and Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Committee on Human Rights from October 1990. in September 1996. He was also the first vice-president of the Parliamentary delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Committee of the European Union-Cyprus.

He was also a member of the Selection Committee. He was the head of the Parliamentary delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, of the Parliamentary delegation to the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (renamed the Association of Asian Parliamentarians for Peace), of the Parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and to the Mediterranean Parliament.

As a student in Greece, he became actively involved in the student movement and was a founding member of the Youth of the Center Union under the presidency of George Papandreou. He was also a member of the board of the "Themis" student association of the Athens Law School.

He was the president of the Lions Limassol Club (1980-1981), a member of the judicial committee of the Football Athletic Agricultural Federation of Cyprus (PAAK), as well as the general secretary of the federation. He was a founding member of DISY. and the Youth of DH.SY. (ΝΕ.ΔΗ.ΣΥ.). From 1976 to 1985 he was the provincial secretary of NE.DISY. Limassol, in 1985 he was elected vice president and in 1987 president of NE.DISY.

In 1990 he was elected first vice-president of DISY, in 1995 vice-president and on June 8, 1997 president of the party. He was re-elected on 20 June 1999, 25 May 2003 and 17 March 2007.

It participates in the highest collective bodies of the European People's Party, the European Democratic Union and the International Democratic Union. He has been a member of the National Council since 1995.
