The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) today announced (22/8), on the occasion of the start of the hunting season in Cyprus, warns that such activities in the dead zone, as well as the use of weapons, dogs or equipment in in this context, they pose a security risk and are strictly prohibited.
The Force urges hunters to refrain from dangerous or irresponsible actions in and around the dead zone.
It also warns that any aggressive / dangerous behavior of hunters against the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces and others will be reported to the competent local authorities for immediate and appropriate prosecution in accordance with the law.
