The Pancyprian Association of Leisure Centers (PASIKA) expresses its disagreement with the possibility of extending the closure of the recreation centers, but also with the requirement to present a negative test and a vaccination certificate, in view of the end of the lockdown measures on May 10th.

"In principle, for us, any possibility of expanding the closure of the industry cannot be accepted, even as a thought. Entrepreneurs have exceeded all limits of endurance in every respect and what they expect is the reopening of the industry with minimal or no restrictions, especially in terms of number of hosts and hours ", says a statement from PASIKA, signed by the association's secretary general, Fanos Leventis .

He also reiterates that the association does not agree with the intention to require visitors to submit either a negative diagnostic test (72 hours) or a vaccination receipt or other health documents. He also notes that "the effort made by the board of the association is to avoid the conflict with the State either through mass dynamic protests or by taking legal measures for which we are constantly under intense pressure."

"We fully understand the need to get out of this tragedy that we all live in as soon as possible and the majority of the industry has proved it all this time but this must be done within the framework of legality, proportionality, logic and not threats. "of extortionate measures and the indirect obligation to vaccinate, violating the constitutional rights of citizens", he adds. "It is worth mentioning that we are in full consultation both with scientists in relation to pandemic issues and with legal advisors on similar issues", concludes Mr. Leventis.
