The terror was sown by a young foreigner yesterday in Limassol, during the children's carnival parade.
The Egyptian, who according to the Police is illegally on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, was drunk. With the help of people who were there, the 28-year-old was stopped and members of the Police arrested him.
A citizen's testimony states that the young man shouted "I will slaughter you all" holding a knife, which was taken from him by a citizen.
The foreigner has been in custody since yesterday at noon.
It should be noted that in both the children's and the big carnival parade of next Sunday in Limassol, members of the Police are on foot and discreetly guard the premises as part of the enhanced anti-terrorist measures and not only, always at a precautionary level.
