The government is talking about an attempt to create false impressions for pre-election purposes after criticisms of the opposition and staffs of presidential candidates in positions of President Anastasiadis concerning the EEZ.
In a written statement from Riyadh and in order to restore the truth, as he states, the government spokesman Nikos Christodoulidis emphasizes that the President of the Republic repeated what everyone knows.
That is, that Turkey has over time allegedly invoked the interests of the Turkish Cypriots to justify its illegal and provocative actions against the Republic of Cyprus. Thus, even in the case of violations and breaches of the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus by Turkey, the government spokesman notes, the only guide of Ankara is the service of its own exclusive interests.
The Republic of Cyprus, as evidenced by the facts themselves, points out Nikos Christodoulidis, takes all measures to ensure all its sovereign rights.
