A co-financed project to provide opportunities to young graduates of architecture and civil engineering, up to 29 years old, with a budget of € 6 million was approved by the Council of Ministers today.

The project will be implemented from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021, with the possibility of extending its application beyond 2021 and will cover the training allowance to be paid to trainee architects and civil engineers by ETEK, the contributions to be paid to them in various funds managed by the Social Security Services, the insurance costs of the practicing architects and civil engineers, against the employer's liability and the costs of managing the implementation of the project, are mentioned in a statement, which was transmitted by the GTP.

"The Council of Ministers approved today the proposal of the Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance for the implementation of the" Project to Provide Opportunities to Young Graduates of Architecture and Civil Engineering, up to 29 years old, who are out of employment, education or training, to carry out required by the Cyprus Technical and Technical Chamber Law 1990 to 2017, internship ”, a project co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Youth Employment Initiative and part of the Government’s policy to support youth employment ", It is added.

It aims to create the appropriate conditions that will facilitate the effort of young graduates of the fields of architecture and civil engineering to carry out the exercise provided by the Law on the Scientific Technical Chamber of Cyprus, with the ultimate goal of securing a license to practice the relevant profession. .

The implementing body of the project will be ETEK.

"The trainees who will participate in the project, will be granted for their training period, a monthly training allowance of six hundred and fifty euros (€ 650), which will be paid by ETEK", it is noted.

The Chamber will also pay the statutory contributions to the funds managed by the Social Security Services and will insure the practicing architects and civil engineers, who will participate in the project, against the responsibility of the employer.
