Both of these assumptions find their perfect application in the angelic face of Monica Ertl. Her name may not say much to most people, however, she is the protagonist in a story that if someone saw her in the cinema they would say that "these things do not happen in Hollywood either".
And yet. This woman was the one who raised the gun and took revenge for one of the most famous executions of world history. That of the Argentine revolutionary and Cuban legend, Ernesto "Che" Guevara!
He was born in 1937 in Munich. Her father, Hans Ertl, was one of Adolf Hitler's leading filmmakers. He was the chief cameraman of the film crew of Lenny Riefenstahl, the most emblematic Nazi director. As is perfectly normal in the house where Monica grew up, Nazi ideology was something of a religion.
Various high-ranking officials of the Nazi party came in and out. Among them is Klaus Barbie. The Nazi official who was responsible for a series of war crimes in France during World War II, because of which he was recorded in the collective memory as "the butcher of Lyon». For Monica it was "Uncle Klaus"!
Her father wanted a boy. He raised Monica as a boy. He even taught her to shoot. He was proud that he also had a very good sign…
As Monica grew older, however, it became clearer that she hated what she saw and learned. The countdown began when her family left Europe and moved to Latin America.

He first came in contact with regional members of the Bolivian National Liberation Army (National Liberation Army), created by Che himself in 1966. She soon left her paternal home to go out illegally. There, in fact, he acquired the nickname "Imila the Indiana"! She soon gained fame and her companions said of her "that she knows no fear".
However, she meets and falls in love with Guido Alvaro Peredo Leite, known by the pseudonym "Indy", a member of the Bolivian Communist Party who participated in the group that prepared Guevara's arrival in the country.
It is said that during the period of its illegality, Monica visited her father to see if he was well. All these visits, however, ended in Homeric quarrels. "What are you doing in the jungle?" are you preparing to turn monkeys into maoists? the unrepentant Nazi told her in an ironic mood and she became even more enraged.
The creation of a guerrilla, by Cuban standards, in its forests Bolivia did not bear fruit. Che, Indy and all the ELN men were with their backs to the wall. The country's national army, along with CIA agents, are pursuing them mercilessly.
On October 9, 1967, Che, who was arrested, was executed in the village of La Igera.
The news of his death falls like lightning. Shocked, Monica vows to avenge the death of the Argentine revolutionary.
Two years later, the second blow comes. Gido's favorite Alvaro Peredo Leite, is trapped in a house by his pursuers and after an unequal battle is arrested. He is tortured and eventually executed.
The next day, Bolivian newspapers boast about the government's new success with photos of the dead man and various smiling officials above him.
Monica mourns but focuses on one person. To the one who smiles and holds a cigarette in his hand to celebrate the event. This is Roberto Quintanilla Pereira. This man is the main protagonist in both the execution of Che and that of her lover Indy. Now the desire for revenge becomes an obsession.
The Bolivian regime, in order to protect Kindanilia from the guerrillas, appointed him Bolivian consul general in Hamburg, Germany.
Monica learns this and is sure that it is the opportunity she was looking for. He plans to execute it for two whole years.
Returns to Germany and on the first of April 1971, she wears her good clothes, high heels, combs her hair, dyes it and goes to the consular office. He knocks on the door and enters Kindanilia's office.
"My name is Monica Ertl. I'm interested in visiting Bolivia for a documentary. You know, I stayed there with my father after the war. We immigrated there for some years until the situation calmed down. "Courts of war, Americans, Russians, you see."
The consul, impressed by her beauty, promises to help her and suggests that she accompany him for a drink. He also gives him his card. Now, Monica has no doubt that he is.

Someone from their group, however, betrayed them. "Uncle Klaus" had people everywhere. For his services in the extermination of the guerrillas, after all, he was honored by the regime with the rank of intelligence captain and was a trusted adviser to the Bolivian dictator.
On May 12, 1973, Monica, like Che, like Indy's lover, falls into an ambush and is executed. Her body, like that of Che and Indy, was photographed as booty by the Bolivian authorities and buried in an unknown place so that her grave would not be turned into a place of worship.
