On the initiative of the Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA), a presentation was held on "Property - Ways of Dealing with Turkish Energy for Famagusta". The main speaker of the presentation was the lawyer, Mr. Achilleas Dimitriadis.

The subject of Mr. Dimitriadis' presentation was to inform the public about this issue from a legal point of view, without any political connotations. The ECtHR was informed, the right of appeal, the Property Rehabilitation Committee, the ways of its treatment and rehabilitation as well as the cases pending before the ECtHR.

As part of the presentation, all displaced persons were invited to declare their occupied property to the Land Registry, because to date there is a percentage of 20%, which is still not declared.

In the case of Famagusta, and especially the enclosed city, and in view of the threats of the Turkish Foreign Minister Mr. Ozersay to open it and the allegations that a large percentage of the land allegedly belongs to EVKAF, the need to declare Property of all refugees on the land registry is mandatory. Otherwise, the risk of them being claimed by EVKAF is visible.

The presentation was attended by a large number of people, while due to the great interest in the subject, EBE Famagusta plans to repeat the presentation in other cities. Finally, EVEA will continue to provide information to its Members for its better information on various issues that concern them.
