Major renovations with the addition of hundreds of new beds and entertainment venues are being prepared for 2018 by the major hotel companies, encouraged by the high occupancy of the last two years and expecting a continuation of the flow of all inclusive tourists in Cyprus.
Five- and four-star hotels undergo a full or partial facelift in order to make them even more attractive to foreign tour operators.
According to data collected by StockWatch, in more than 20 hotels all over Cyprus, projects are underway to renovate and improve their interiors and exteriors. The goal is to be ready to welcome the new wave of tourists by May at the latest.
Among the hotels undergoing total facelift are 11 hotels in Ayia Napa and Protaras.

Time is running out for two hotels in Ayia Napa, the 4-star Atlantica Bay Hotel with outdoor additions, all rooms are being refurbished, and the Atlantica Mare Village, formerly Kermia, where renovations are underway that began in last year when it was transformed from a tourist village into a 4-star hotel. It has a capacity of 261 rooms plus another 108 rooms that will be added for 2018.
By the end of May, the works are expected to be completed in all parts of the 5-star Constantinos The Great Hotel as well as the 4-star Tsokkos Protaras Hotel, to which 40 new rooms will be added. Both hotels are located in Protaras.
The renovation of another hotel in Ayia Napa, the Olympic Lagoon, which is being upgraded from 4 to 5 stars with a capacity of 295 rooms, is in progress.
The well-known company Grecian Hotel, which has three hotels in free Famagusta, is also carrying out improvement projects in its hotels.
It upgrades the services offered at the 5-star Grecian Bay Park and the 4-star Grecian Sands Hotel, all in Ayia Napa.
The tourist village of St. is also being upgraded and refreshed. 4-star Elias Resort in Protaras with the addition of 16 private pools and a jacuzzi in a similar number of apartments.
The well-known hotel in Ayia Napa, 4-star Asterias Beach Hotel with a capacity of 288 rooms, whose history begins on the shores of beautiful Famagusta as it has been closed since 1974, is carrying out improvement works in the complete renovation that took place last year.
Improvements are being made to the 4-star, 147-room Pavlo Napa Hotel and the Aqua Mare Beach Hotel in Paphos, which will add a number of rooms to the existing 159 rooms.
