LAKE: Two injured after a moped accident

A 42-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were treated at the Famagusta General Hospital in Paralimni on Sunday night after a road accident.

According to the Police, around 20:50, a 42-year-old man from Bulgaria, a permanent resident of Paralimni, was riding his moped on Protaras Avenue in Paralimni with a 26-year-old woman passenger from Moldova.

At some point on the road and under conditions being investigated, he lost control of the moped, causing them to overturn.

Both were injured and transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Famagusta where they were kept for treatment.

Their condition is out of danger. Preliminary examinations revealed that the moped was wearing a protective helmet, while the woman was not.

A blood sample was taken from the driver for analysis for breathalyzer purposes.

The Paralimni Police Station is investigating the causes under which the accident occurred.
