A seven-year-old girl who was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Thursday night, in Paphos, is being treated at the Children's ICU in Nicosia, according to the Police.

As reported by the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, on Thursday, at 19:40, a 21-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus, under circumstances that are being investigated, collided with a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus with her seven-year-old daughter and two other minor relatives aged 14 year old and 7 year old.

He added that the seven-year-old co-passenger and relative of the 30-year-old was taken to the Children's Intensive Care Unit in Nicosia due to her serious injury, while the 14-year-old was kept as a precaution for hospitalization at the surgery department of the General Hospital of Paphos.

The 30-year-old driver of the vehicle and her also 7-year-old daughter were examined and released since they did not suffer serious injuries.

He added that the driver of the other vehicle, 21 years old, was also detained for further hospitalization in the surgery department of the Paphos General Hospital for preventive reasons while his passenger was examined and dismissed. A drug test performed on the 21-year-old had zero results.

The examinations are continued by the Paphos Traffic Police.
