Unknown people "picked up" diving equipment from a store in Ayia Napa

A large amount of items and diving equipment were seized by strangers from a diving equipment store in Ayia Napa. Taking advantage of the darkness, they broke into the store, which also functions as a diving school, and allegedly loaded the loot on two vehicles of the school that were parked outside and turned into smoke.

According to a police statement, the owner of a diving school complained today that between 22:00 yesterday and 07:00 today, strangers broke into her shop and stole various diving instruments and equipment, worth a total of approximately € 64.200.

The strangers also stole two cars and a body, owned by the complainant, whose keys were found inside the store.

Members of the Police visited the scene where they conducted on-site examinations.

The two vehicles were found today, burned, in an area within the borders of the British Bases of Dhekelia.

The Famagusta Police Department is investigating a case of burglary and theft, while the Base Police is investigating a case of arson of vehicles.
