AXIK must and can be transferred to the province of Famagusta, according to the Famagusta Tourist Commercial and Industrial Company, in a letter notified to the Ministers of Labor, Energy, Education, the Director of AXIK and the Chairmen of the Labor, Energy and Energy Committees.

In its letter, TEVEA characterizes as invalid and inappropriate the announcement of the Public Works Department for the submission of expressions of interest by natural or legal persons who have a building for long-term rent, rental market or purchase for the relocation of the building facilities of the Upper Hotel since the announcement does not take into account qualitative criteria at all, but only the area of the space ”.

It is added that “regarding the area and the square meters mentioned in the announcement that they are needed, they do not comply with either the legislation or the number of students studying at AXIK. We consider that the period of one month given for the submission of a declaration of interest is extremely short so that all the necessary procedures can be done and a complete proposal can be submitted so that the building is ready for use in September 2017 ".

The Company reminds that the Province of Famagusta has the largest number of tourist beds in Cyprus and therefore is the ideal choice, that there are buildings that can be used for the needs of AXIK, as well as other business premises and states that it has contacted businessmen. which have spaces that could house AXIK and meet the needs that arise both in terms of theoretical teaching and practical application.

The letter also notes that the Company contacted "potential investors, large entrepreneurs in the tourism sector, who are willing through strategic partnerships to contribute to the smooth operation of AXIK".
It is also stated that the transfer of AXIK to the Province of Famagusta "will contribute significantly to tackling the phenomenon of seasonality" while it will contribute "to the further development and expansion of the municipalities of Paralimni and Ayia Napa as urban centers and the revitalization of the urban core of these areas." .
It is also noted that with the possibility of solving the Cyprus problem and opening the occupied city of Famagusta, with the transfer of AXIK to the Province of Famagusta, the long-standing goal of the educational institution to operate as a bi-communal project and to serve both Greeks and students".

At the same time, the transfer of AXIK to the province of Famagusta will further strengthen the Cypriot tourism product, while "the need to upgrade AXIK to a university school, which is a model for training professionals in the field of tourism, is considered urgent".

In its letter, TEVEA also states that it is aware that "there may be obstacles in the whole effort, such as the relocation of staff", but notes that this percentage will be very small, stressing that the important thing is to have an equal distribution of educational opportunities. and especially in an industry such as tourism ".

Finally, in its letter, TEVEA states that its initiative "is supported by the Members of Parliament of Famagusta, the Municipalities and Communities of the Free Province of Famagusta, as well as organized bodies dealing with the tourism industry".
