With Mitsotaki's decision, there was no padlock in theaters and concerts

Regarding the suggestions made, the Prime Minister decided to take a step back in the field of Culture. Fearing that the industry would suffer another major blow, the Prime Minister decided not to put a "padlock" in theaters, cinemas and concerts, but to reduce the fullness (without standing in concerts).

Having talked with businessmen in the field of Culture, the Prime Minister made this decision, giving a little breath to the area. In fact, according to information from iefimerida, there was a long conversation between the Prime Minister and the actor Konstantinos Markoulakis, who tried to explain how destructive a new padlock would be in the industry.

Koronovirus: Half of the active cases concern Attica

As the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection announced yesterday, almost half of the active cases concern Attica. Of the 4.089 active cases, 1.829 concern the capital. At the same time, the Undersecretary announced that since July 1, when tourism opened, 1.093 cases have been identified at the entrance gates, while 491.980 targeted checks have been carried out on a total of 3.827.400 entrants.

Hardalias: That's why we can not put vertical measures

Mr. Hardalias in yesterday's briefing, clarified the reasons why horizontal measures had to be taken and not depending on the area where there is a high load.

"The measures in Attica can not be perpendicular to the municipalities that have the biggest problem, as the population moves outside these municipalities, so they are taken throughout the basin," he said.

Measures in the region of Trikala

Also, the Region of Trikala is under increased epidemiological surveillance from this morning, at 06:00, for 14 days. During this period the following measures will apply in the area:

ban on restaurants and entertainment venues from midnight until 7:00 in the morning and
a maximum of 50 people for public and social events and gatherings.
Mr. Hardalias reminded that the local lockdowns will continue where needed. It should be emphasized that the following belong to the epidemiologically burdened areas:

the Regions of Attica and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
the Regional Units of Thessaloniki, Larissa, Corfu Karditsa, Rethymno, Lassithi and Paros (including Antiparos)
the municipalities of Santorini, Volos, Rhodes and Kos.
