The two injured are being treated in critical condition and intubated after the accident that occurred during a race of the Panhellenic Motocross Championship, on the track in Giannitsa. A rider lost control of the motorcycle, hit a pillar, which then seriously injured two spectators.

According to information, the motorcycle of one of the participants in the race, in one of the jumps, got out of control and ended up in the fence, on a metal pillar which collapsed and seriously injured two people.

According to the ERT news bulletin, these are a 16-year-old and a 27-year-old who worked at the spot as conservators. Both were immediately transported to the hospital of Giannitsa by EKAB ambulance that rushed to the track of Talabas.

There, they were immediately intubated as their condition was considered very serious, while then they were transported to the "Papageorgiou" hospital in Thessaloniki.
The doctors of the hospital report that the condition of the injured is extremely serious and the next hours will be very critical. The information states that they have serious craniocerebral injuries.

According to ERT, the 16-year-old rider of the motorcycle that caused the accident and the 60-year-old organizer of the races have already been arrested for the incident.

The timeline of the accident
In one of the jumps of the track, a rider lost control of his motorcycle which fell on the protective fence. There he hit a metal pillar, which fell and caused serious injury to the two people.

The race was stopped and the injured were immediately transported to the hospital by ambulance that was called and rushed to the point of the track in Giannitsa.

Then they were transferred from Giannitsa hospital to "Papageorgiou" hospital in Thessaloniki. They are a 16-year-old and a 27-year-old, who according to the first information have serious craniocerebral injuries and are hospitalized in an ICU.

Preliminary investigation of the accident is carried out by the local police authorities.
