Donald Trump gave his first post-shake-up interview since the sacking of the FBI director, slightly changing the original version of his decision (that he was fired following a recommendation from the Justice Department).

"I would oust him anyway," the president said, calling Comey a "figurehead" who caused a stir at the FBI.

"It was my decision, I would fire him whatever the suggestion," he told NBC.

At the same time, he assured that as US President he is not under investigation for the case of the Russian hackers and how they influenced (according to the allegations) the result of the presidential election.

"I asked him to tell me, if possible, whether I was in the person being examined, and he said no," Donald Trump explained.

At the same time, he assured that the investigation into the case will not stop, as many accuse him, especially from the Democratic camp.

"I have nothing to do with Russia, I have no interests in Russia, I have no investments and no real estate," he said.

However, the competent Senate Committee that is examining the case continues the investigations. She has already asked Trump's former National Security Adviser, Mile Flynn, to hand over all the material he has on Russia.

Flynn is at the center of an investigation into alleged Moscow interference in the election.

He was forced to step down as adviser in February when it became known that he had not disclosed the content of his talks with the Russian ambassador to the United States and then misled Vice President Mike Pence about the talks.
