A 20-year-old model from India, whose lifeless body was found in a large garbage bag, was thrown in the bushes on the outskirts of Mumbai.
Mansi Dixit had just returned to Mumbai, her place of residence, from the village where she was born in Rajasthan, last Sunday.
A few days earlier, her killer, 19-year-old Mujamil Sayed, had moved to Mumbai from Hyderabad in the south of the country.
According to the authorities, the two young people met through a dating app on Monday and decided to meet for the first time up close the next day. However, things took a dramatic turn when Dixit went to the young man's house and then refused to have sex with him.
The sequel, as described by the perpetrator himself in his confession to the police, is creepy. Enraged that the girl did not want to have sex with him, the 19-year-old hit her with a stool on the head. Then, as he reports, he was terrified to see that the 20-year-old had lost consciousness and tried to seduce her by throwing water in her face.
The girl regained consciousness for a while, but then Sayed panicked again, believing that his mother would arrive home from time to time. Then the young man took a rope and strangled the girl, and then called a taxi to get rid of her body.
The body of the unfortunate young woman was found thanks to the taxi driver, who realized that something was wrong by seeing the 19-year-old carrying the huge garbage bag. When she left him at the place he asked, he did not leave the area but hid and saw Sayed hiding the bag in some bushes. He then called the police.
