The Prosecuting Authorities are on red alert after the new murderous attack against Alexis Mavromichalis known as "Alexoui" which was committed on Tuesday night (31/10). The murder against Mavromichalis occurred around 21:00, when he was inside his house, specifically on the balcony of his apartment on Verenikis Street in Acropolis. According to the first indications, the perpetrator-sniper was hiding on the roof of the opposite apartment building and wounded him with a bullet in the abdomen. According to unconfirmed information the fatal blow caused the victim to go into cardiac arrest.
The murder against Mavromichalis occurred around 21:00, when he was inside his house, specifically on the balcony of his apartment on Verenikis Street in Acropolis.
The scene was cordoned off by strong police forces "combing" the area to collect evidence. Mavromichalis was taken to Nicosia General Hospital and despite the efforts of the doctors, he succumbed to his injuries around 1 am.
The connection to the murder in Limassol
The first estimates of the Police Authorities are that the execution of Mavromichalis is indirectly linked to the murder of Thanasis Kalogeropoulos, who fell dead on Monday morning (30/10) in Limassol.
The information says that the Prosecuting Authorities are closing to the scenario that the two mafia hits are a show of force by imported cold-blooded executioners from other camps.
This fact is also proven by the way they acted in both cases since Kalogeropoulos was executed in a busy area of Limassol, which citizens use either for swimming or for their daily walk, while Mavromichalis was shot in his home.
The two victims had good relations with each other, with the authorities estimating that it was not a case of retaliation. The attention of the Authorities is said to be at the present stage on foreign elements of imported mafia who may want to create a footprint in the country.
Under the nose of secret services they executed the death contracts
The criminal acts at a time when in Cyprus due to the war in Israel, there is intense activity of foreign agencies and surveillance systems from other countries, reveal the great audacity of the perpetrators since theoretically in the event of their escape from the island, the security measures at airports and barricades are raised. Who was Alexis Mavromichalis?
Alexoui was a well-known person in the Police Authorities, since his name appeared in several criminal acts and drug cases, while he was also involved in night activities in Nicosia. We remind you that the name of Mavromichalis was linked to the case of attempted murder of Panagiotis Panagiotou another "Glykas" which was committed on November 20, 2017, however after a decision of the Criminal Court of Nicosia he was acquitted.
