Scary are the images that see the light of day from a car that caught fire when its driver put a hand antiseptic while he was lighting his cigarette.
The incident took place last Thursday and the unfortunate driver from Maryland, USA, used the antiseptic while smoking, as a result of which the car was engulfed in flames in a parking lot.
Firefighters rushed to the scene to put out the fire. "Using hand antiseptic and smoking is a bad combination in an unventilated area, like a car," a fire department official told the media.
The driver, whose name has not been released, smoked and started using the antiseptic, which caught fire, which spread to the car.
This is believed to be due to the high alcohol content of the antiseptic, which makes it extremely flammable.
The driver was taken to hospital, where he was treated for burns that were not life-threatening. The vehicle, however, was completely destroyed.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. According to the NY Post, a woman from Texas, USA, suffered severe burns last September, when the antiseptic on her skin caught fire while she was lighting a candle.
